Unfortunately due to wet weather we have had to CANCEL our Wednesday competition night for October 7th. We will see all our Tiny Tots to Under 7's on October 14th 2020.

With the current climate we are all living in, Smithfield Athletics has had to make some changes as to how our 2020/2021 season will run.

To comply with the current health guidelines the committee has decided not to have training on Wednesday afternoons, but instead we will have our Tiny Tots, U6’s and U7’s competing on Wednesday from 5.30pm.

All other age groups will compete on Friday from 6.00pm.

Whilst this arrangement might not suit everyone and some won’t be able to make it on a Wednesday, others will have to attend twice a week.

As a committee we believe this is a better option than having two separate sessions on a Friday evening, with a break between each session of 15-20mins.

Due to the safety guidelines we need to follow the night will run slower than normal and possibly finish after 9.30pm. It is a big commitment from ALL our volunteers who have offered to help out on both days.

Whilst we all hope this pandemic disappears as the weather warms up, guidelines for the entire season must be set now.

Everyone who attends either Wednesday or Friday MUST sign in via a QR code or a sign on sheet on arrival. There will be no drop and run, every parent must register with their child upon arrival.

If the new schedule does not suit your family, please do not register.

General Information

Our home ground is at Janice Crosio Oval, Rosford St, Smithfield NSW. We hold our Little Athletics on Wednesday and Friday evenings at 5:30pm and 6pm. Joining Smithfield Athletics is an inexpensive sport that helps maintain your fitness over the summer season.

We welcome boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 17 to compete each week in a number of track and field events on Friday evenings. The younger age groups will also be participating in some fun games to develop their motor skills. Competition night starts at 6pm, but please be at the ground at 5:45pm so the night can begin on time.

The season runs between September and March with breaks during the October and Christmas School holidays.

Registration includes:

- Little Athletics Association costs and insurance

- Approximately 20 weeks of Friday night competition (depending on the weather)

- Entry into Zone, Regional and State Championships

- Presentation awards for those who return after the Christmas break

Parent volunteers are always needed every week to help in the canteen, sell raffle tickets, starters, time keep etc. There is always something to do and your help would be very much appreciated. If you are interested in helping out at the club, you can send an email via the "Contact Us" page for more information. The nights do not run smoothly if we do not have enough help and support.

At the end of the season, all athletes will receive a trophy at our presentation as per our constitution.

If you have any questions or suggestions about the club or need more information that isn’t on the website, please go to the "Contact Us" page. There is also a map of the location of Janice Crosio Oval on this page.

Thanks for visiting this site and hope to see you down at the Oval.
